Gina’s mother, Nancy Ruiz, made an astounding revelation about the state of the three kidnapped young women in an emotional interview on ‘Good Morning America’ on May 9.
Gina DeJesus‘ mother, Nancy Ruiz, revealed the tearful moment she first saw her kidnapped daughter, Gina, now 23, after 9 long years of not knowing if she was dead or alive.

“We just grabbed each other and held on. There were no words. It was just hugging and kissing and crying,” she told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America.
She intimated that Gina and the other young women survived their horrific ordeal of rape and torture by commiserating with each other. “They didn’t want to be separated,” she told Robin.
Fortunately, now after a few days of freedom, Nancy says the girls are “doing great… it’s working out good.”
Nancy Ruiz: ‘Every Day Is Mother’s Day’
The thankful mom admits that she was surprised by her daughter’s ability to have pulled through this horrific ordeal.
“I knew she was strong — I think she’s stronger than I am, to tell the truth. She is.”
Naturally, Nancy feels “so blessed and thankful” to have her beloved daughter back, and swears she never lost hope that her baby was still alive. “From my heart and my faith in God. I knew she was alive. I felt it.”
Of course this is the best Mother’s Day present Nancy could ever ask for, Robin pointed out. “It is. I don’t look at Sunday as Mother’s Day because every day has been Mother’s Day.”
