Ohio kidnapping suspect Ariel Castro reportedly took Amanda Berry’s six-year-old daughter out of his home on the weekends to see his mom, whom the little girl called ‘grandma.’ Read on for more shocking details.
While Ariel Castro allegedly kept three women locked in his Ohio basement, he let Amanda Berry‘s 6-year-old daughter out on the weekends, according to police reports. The suspected kidnapper would take the little girl to visit his mom Lillian Rodriguez, and the little girl would call her “grandma.”
Amanda Berry’s Daughter Taken Out Of Home
Amanda Berry’s daughter, named Jocelyn, was also spotted out with Ariel on a local playground shortly before she was rescued from the home, according to the Daily Mail. Ariel also told neighbors that the little girl was his girlfriend’s daughter.
Police have not confirmed who the father of the child is, but they do say it is one of the three Castro brothers who are involved in the kidnapping. The three brothers are Ariel, Onil, 50, and Pedro, 54.
Amanda Berry’s Daughter Home Schooled At Ohio House
Jocelyn had been home schooled by her mom Amanda, police say, and they believe she wasn’t delivered at a local hospital. Authorities have no record of her birth, so it’s believed she was delivered at a home birth.

Amanda, who vanished on April 21, 2003, a day before her 17th birthday, made a call to authorities on Monday, May 6. Gina, missing since April 2, 2004, and Michelle, 32, last seen in 2002 at age 21, were also in the house with Amanda.
At least five babies were born at the house, while one of the victims suffered as many as three miscarriages because she was so malnourished, police sources say. It is unknown what happened to the children who were born at the home.
Ariel, who owned the house, was arrested, according to Radar Online. His two brothers, Onil and Pedro, were also arrested.
