Kristen’s talented stylist Tara tells us how the star was totally in her element last night at the Met Gala — and it totally showed on the red carpet! Find out how they decided on the perfect look right here.
Kristen Stewart looked cool and confident when she came down the grand red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6 to celebrate the opening of PUNK: Chaos to Couture in NYC, where the 23-year-old fit the theme in her bordeaux Stella McCartney jumpsuit. We got to catch up with Tara Swennen, (the super stylist behind all of Kristen’s amazing red carpet get-ups), who told us that the second they saw the look they knew that it was the one — even if they did have the first fitting over Skype!
Kristen Stewart’s Skype Fitting For The Met Gala:
“When we looked over the sketches via e-mail we all thought the jumpsuit was the one off the bat. It was so perfect for her,” Tara says.”We thought it would be cool to let her be in her element in the jumpsuit. We had a fitting via Skype. We were at Kristen’s house and Stella was on the phone and we had a tailor come in. Having Stella there for her input was great.”
Kristen Stewart & Stella McCartney’s Relationship:
While Kristen has walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in the past, this was the first time she attended with a female designer. “I really love the idea that she’s never gone to the Met Ball with a woman,” Tara says. “They met in London and they have a great relationship.” Considering how amazing Kristen looks in Stella’s clothes it’s easy to see why!
Kristen Stewart Rocked The Met Gala:
“She was definitely in her element last night. Something like punk is much easier to relate to and Kristen definitely fits the asthetic,” Tara tells us of the star’s silk embroidered jumpsuit. We couldn’t agree more!
While Kristen is definitely a pro on the Met carpet, Tara admits that some stars often miss out on their chance to shine. “It’s the fashion prom, everyone wants to be included but not everyone gets invited,” she says.
