American got it wrong on May 2. Voters eliminated the wrong contestant, arguably the most marketable singer in the competition. Find out why I think Amber shouldn’t have been eliminated!
Amber Holcomb Eliminated: ‘American Idol’ Shocker
Regarding Amber Holcolm’s May 1 performances, Jimmy Iovine said Amber sounded karaoke when she sang Pink‘s “Just Give Me A Reason,” but thought that she crushed it with “Funny Valentine.”
Unfortunately, America sided with Jimmy’s former comments, rather than the latter.
I am completely shocked and appalled that Amber, the most marketable contestant this season (with the most talent), was eliminated. She at least deserved to be in the top two.
The Judges Tried Sending Amber Holcomb To The Finale
In my opinion (and I’m sure I’ll receive lots of backlash for this), Amber and Angie Miller are the only two marketable contestants this season. In fact, it appeared as thought the judges and head honcho Nigel Lythgoe became aware of this, because Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki all ridiculed Kree Harrison and Candice Glove during the April 23 episode, but only sent praises to Amber and Angie.
Sure, America votes and decides who wins, but the show has a way of manipulating the viewer’s perception of who’s the best. (That’s my opinion, though.)
Amber has it all, and it’s a shame she’s now gone. She has the voice, the looks and the potential to become a global superstar.
At this point, unless Angie wins, the winner will become the next David Cook, Lee DeWyze or Taylor Hicks — past winners who have since been forgotten.
I’ve never said this before, and I often don’t believe it, but this won’t be the last we see of Amber Holcomb.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Did the right person go home?
