Oh dear. Lindsay has set herself a new personal record, as she fled her rehab facility on May 2 less than two minutes after walking in the door.
Lindsay Lohan has left rehab. Lindsay was set to begin rehab at the Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, Calif. on May 2, but she made her stay really brief. Lindsay reportedly left the center after less than two minutes, because she said she “didn’t need rehab.”
Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab
Lindsay, 26, reportedly walked in the door of the treatment center on May 2, and left after less than two minutes!
“She told people there that she didn’t need rehab,” a source familiar with the situation told Radar. “And then she left. Everyone was stunned.”
Her father Michael Lohan confirmed that she left rehab: “I have no other choice than to get this out there to help Lindsay.”
This is crazy! While it is terrible that Lindsay left rehab, perhaps this is not the worst outcome, because the center does not actually have a license to practice.
This treatment centre has no license, TMZ revealed, because it was suspended for being careless with prescription drugs and operating beyond the scope of its license, and there license was revoked outright.
Millicent Tidwell, the Acting Deputy Director Over the Licensing and Certification Division at the Department, told TMZ:
Morningside cannot give any treatment. It is a violation of the State law to operate a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility in California without a license. Morningside does not have a license.
Michael Lohan Did NOT Want Lindsay To Get Treatment At Morningside
Lindsay’s father Michael must be somewhat relieved about this situation, because he spoke to HollywoodLife.com about Morningside Recovery, and he was NOT happy with the idea of Lindsay getting treatment there.
Lindsay had no idea that Morningside wasn’t approved. It’s not her fault. This poor kid was a mess before she left because she didn’t want to go there. [Mark] Heller and Dina [Lohan] are pulling her in one direction [Morningside], and I was trying to pull her in the right direction [The Lukens Institute]. Heller told her if she didn’t go she would be arrested. Hopefully now Lindsay will get put in The Lukens Institute where she wanted to go all along — a place she will get the right treatment and finally get better.
TV’s Judge Alex Reveals His Thoughts On Why Lindsay Avoided Prison
My understanding of California right now is that they are so overcrowded that the jails, by law must release non violent members instead of locking them up because they just don’t have room for the violent offenders as well as the non violent offenders. In a situation like that, unless they enter into some type of an agreement that they can legally enter into another state and house there prisoners then the people who are accused of things that aren’t violent, whether it be shoplifting or whatever Lindsay’s flavor of the month is, they will be released.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked Lindsay fled rehab?
