On May 1, everyone — celebrities included — were wearing their clothes backwards in honor of Chris Kelly, one half of the iconic Nineties rap duo Kris Kross. Chris (a.k.a. “Mac Daddy”) was found unconscious in his Atlanta, Ga. home and was rushed to the Atlanta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead around 5:30 p.m.
Diddy & More React To Chris Kelly’s Death
Chris’ impact on the hip-hop world is unmistakable, and was on display as celebrities rushed to Twitter to express their devastation and grief upon hearing news of his passing. Many people were inspired by the teen rap duo, Kris Kross, and so many were so sad to see Chris go.
Diddy simply tweeted, “RIP Chris Kelly,” and many others followed him. Nicki Minaj said, “So sorry to hear that. Sending love to his family. RIP Chris.”
Tia Mowry tweeted, “Rip #chriskelly” and Russell Simmons sent the message, “RIP Chris Kelly from Kriss Kross…”
Big Boi from Outkast tweeted, “R.I.P. Chris Kelly #KrissKross.”
Scooter Braun said, “RIP Chris Kelly… So So Def Family.”
Questlove from The Roots tweeted a Kris Kross lyric in remembrance of Chris: “‘You can get the finga…the middle’ –Mac Daddy

Ludacris: Chris Kelly Was My ‘Motivation’
And there were others who reminded us all of how influential Chris and his group was. Ludacris tweeted, “One of my motivations as a kid to even get into the rap game. You will be missed. R.I.P. Chris Kelly.”
And Lil Kim tweeted, “I’m so sad to hear the news of Chris Kelly. What a great loss. RIP Mac Daddy.”
