Lily will play the iconic princess, opposite Cate Blanchett as her wicked stepmother.

Lily James may play a royal brat on Downton Abbey, but pretty soon, she’ll be just plain royal! Disney announced April 30 that Lily, 24, has been tapped to play Cinderella in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the classic fairy tale.

Though Emma Watson was originally chosen to play the iconic princess, she has since dropped out of the project.

According to Disney, more announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

HollywoodLifers, do you think Lily is the perfect ‘fit’ to play Cinderella? Drop a comment with your thoughts!
