How mean! A CBS blogger called out an NBA cheerleader for being ‘too chunky’ in an insensitive article. Readers, both male and female, are outraged over the rude story and want the writer fired. Do YOU agree that she should be fired?

Sports blogger Anna-Megan Raley should have thought twice before writing a judgmental and senseless article about NBA Oklahoma City Thunder cheerleader Kelsey Williams being overweight.

Anna-Megan, who goes by the pen name of “Claire Crawford,” is being called out for what many people are calling “a hateful attack.” The CBS Houston blogger wrote:

“[Mrs Williams] has been criticized by some folks in [Oklahoma] for having ‘pudginess’ around her waistline… Is this chick “too chunky” to be a cheerleader?”

The post, which has now been taken down by the CBS Houston website, asked readers to participate in a poll which asked: “She has the perfect look to be an NBA cheerleader,” or “She could use some tightening up in her midsection,” and finally, “She has no business wearing that outfit in front of people.”

Angry readers have been sharing their thoughts. One reader commented, “‘It’s a hateful attack on a beautiful, talented, motivated woman, and articles like this contribute to the degradation of society, as well as the negative body image so many women struggle…”

Coincidentally, Anna-Megan once wrote a blog about trying out to be a cheerleader.

Why would anyone, especially a woman, write such a mean story that damages a young girl’s self confidence? It’s refreshing to see so many people stick up for the innocent cheerleader, and call the blogger out on her immaturity and ignorance.

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers, should blogger Anna-Megan be fired?

This cheerleader is gorgeous and has a great figure! I couldnt understand someone writing that for one because its very mean annd sensitive and two, about a gorgeous girl who has a not an ounce of fat on her. Since hearing that the author of this article actually tried out for the team herself and was cut makes more sense! It’s called pure jealousy!!!! Grow up!!! And before you cast stones at someones appearance you might want to think twice, especially since you arent perfect!!! I mean your nose takes up most of your face!

She must be stupid or blind, that woman is beautiful, I prefer a woman to have curves. Plus, I don’t see any fat.

So if you don’t look half-starved you’re ‘chunky’ now? She’s beautiful and good for her not giving in to the critics and changing her image just so they shut up. As long as a woman is healthy and happy and confident, they’re sexy.

I think she’s HOT! But sadly I think the next time we see her she be thin as a bean poll…and the dummy who said this wishes they could take it back. I seen other photos of her she look good to me even if she was 135 instead of 132, she’s still hot!

This is the reason young girls have low self-esteem now a days. It is so sad that this girl who is beautiful and no where near fat is being made fun of. Let’s see a picture of this blogger, who is she to judge someone else? It just sickens me how mean and hurtful people can be.

If the girl does her job right and can do the skills that is required to be a cheerleader than her weight should have no matter. The girl is fit enough to and in shape to handle her job or the organization would not have her out there one would think. It cracks me up when people who could improve their own body “oops” make comments as this writer.
I say to the writer if that’s the case please do not blog/write anymore until you get your nose fixed, I mean you have no room to be a writer and make such judgments when you have facial corrections that that badly need to be taken care of yourself, I mean how is the public to take you seriously when you have a honker like that?

what the ***** is this blog writer another a**hole trying to promote unhealthy body images, anorexia, bulemia, or what? This cheerleader looks healthy and happy . Leave her annd other girls her size or bigger alone. It takes all kinds to make the world “go round” and furthermore is someone paying this cbs blogger to judge ? no one has that right but God above.
