It makes me so mad when other people decide someone is gay for them. I know of
people who have been profoundly hurt by these judgements. I also know of men who
are on the less masculine side that are happily married and are wonderful husbands
and fathers. Get a life people, and don’t try to make judgements when people are
different than your typical Ken and Barbie!!

i agree, i was really appalled when i read lindsay yenter and sarah herron twited that drew is gay, that was not funny at all

those two ladies are either immature or just not very nice

esp sarah, you would think because of her condition she would be a little bit more sensitive

Lets get real, Brooks gives off a serious gay vibe! He is like so many other gay boys from Salt Lake that are in denial. It would be unjust for him to keep going with Des when he is clearly gay. How unfair to the other guys who are hetero!

After the last episode it’s pretty clear that brook is not into her, and it pretty clear why…. The guy is gay and he just hasn’t really accepted that yet, maybe he came on this show to see if he could fall for her but its not working she is just not a man, maybe he needs to go on the bachelor

why would she pick a gay man? not that there is anything wrong with gay, but i thought she wanted a husband.

I agree especially Chris is gay. Did you see him in high heals? Did you see how Chris reacted to the gay beauty contestant helper? Have you noticed how Chris and her are like brothers and sisters, and she even said brothers and sisters don’t kiss. He only likes her because she is independent which gives him time with the boys.

Half of these people commenting clearly aren’t even watching the show if they are jumping to judgments and basing someone ELSE’S relationships and connections off of looks, money, and their own personal preferences rather than chemistry and personality (or simply wanting Des to be happy with someone whom SHE clearly has a connection with). Kinda shallow.

Briooks, Drew and Michael are not gay!!! Stop labeling people as gay like you would label eye color! Just because a guy is sensitive and has a pretty face, that doesn’t make him gay. Did you see Drew and Des’s kiss?? That was not a gay man kissing a woman like that.

Brooks and Desiree have had an obvious real connection from the beginning. I hope the rumors are true and they do end up together. This is such a good season so far!

Thank you for saying that – both that there’s something off with Brooks and that this was a disappointing season. I feel like they are the two big elephants in the room and finally someone else who just can’t put their finger on what makes Brooks such an uncomfortable/unlikable character to watch. I don’t know what it is, but I cannot fathom Desiree’s interest in him. I think Chris is the only truly choosable man and apparently she doesn’t pick him. :\

Well I sure hope you are all wrong and she goes home with Zak. He sounds like a great guy with a heart of gold. As for the immaturity factor, these types if shows really lack any true, real substance. It is all for fun. And as for Sean and Catherine they are the worst. I hope the rumor is right and their so called relationship goes down the drain. Good riddens.

I like Chris best, but Zak would be the best bachelor. He’s so funny and weird! We need a bachelor who’s more than just a Ken doll.

First of all, Desiree is not even one of the most beautiful women who participated in The Bachelor with Sean Lowe. I have watched most of the episodes on The Bachelor and she just acts immature and “childish” sometimes. In addition, I don’t think she is smart; she lacks “depth,” and any man would find her boring after a while.

Also, the fact that Chris Harrison had Catherine do a “cameo” role on the Bachelorette says something about Desiree – she cannot carry the show and have the “ratings” ABC wants to generate and so they try to bring in Catherine and others to make it interesting so that people would watch it. It is my opinion that there is nothing much to see or learn about Desiree – she is too shallow for me and I will not be watching The Bachelorette.

The last 12 months have produced some real losers for ABC’s primetime Monday nights. I refer specifically to their reality dating-mating shows The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor Pad … which at times have come dangerously close to being nothing more than televised prostitution. Thank God the Pad has been cancelled, hopefully never to return. But to continue … Ben Flajnik, Emily Maynard, and Sean Lowe were dismal disappointments, and all for the same single reason … the degree of immaturity they each displayed on camera.

Now comes Desiree Hartsock. Her season #9 run of The Bachelorette has not even begun airing yet; and already the spoilers indicate she will duplicate the same disappointment as her predecessors, and for the same reason … profound immaturity.

Des was America’s sweetheart during Sean Lowe’s run as The Bachelor. She acquired the reputation of being the proverbial “nice sweet girl next door.” She also acquired the reputation of having strong religious convictions and high moral standards. She can quote the Bible at will. These are qualities that would tend to indicate adult maturity. It has even been speculated that her maturity level was the real reason that boyish Sean dumped her … that she just wasn’t the playmate he was looking for.

But alas … the spoilers unanimously agree that it doesn’t turn out that way. It is reported that she fell for the first man she laid eyes on, and has virtually ignored every other man there. Further, the object of her infatuation has reportedly declared that marriage is simply not in his plans. Thus, it appears that Des has chosen just another jock with great abs. In sum … it’s just another case of the Freshman Cheerleader getting moon-eyed for the Captain of the varsity football team. The viewers get the same lackluster finish and a profound disappointment in The Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock.

It is past time ABC stood back and regrouped their strategy regarding these two shows. Surely somebody in the network think tank understands it isn’t wise to play to a childish audience during primetime hours … unless of course, you’re deliberately trying to run off the viewers. The first suggestion is to raise the minimum age for participation to at least 35, in order to get some maturity.
