Jenelle and her mom get into an explosive fight, and she gets high with Kieffer. Plus, Kailyn goes to her family counseling meeting with Jo, Chelsea throws Aubree her third birthday party and Leah makes a difficult decision about Ali’s health. Read on for the full ‘Teen Mom 2′ recap.
Jenelle Evans takes one step forward and two steps back during the April 22 episode of Teen Mom 2. All of her assault charges from her ex-fiance Gary Head are dropped, but she gets evicted from her apartment — and all of her stress and depression comes to a head when she turns to hard drugs.
Jenelle Is So Depressed, She Gets High With Kieffer
Jenelle faces Gary in court for hopefully the last time, and all of her charges are dropped! Her lawyer Dustin R. T. Sullivan warns that she will be in good shape legally, as long as she doesn’t violate her probation again.
But Jenelle gets an eviction notice from her landlord for one month of unpaid rent, and since her on-again live-in boyfriend Kieffer Delp is a convicted felon, their housing options are limited for their next place to live.
Jenelle then gets a surprise visit from her mom Barbara Evans, who brings over Jace, 3. The troubled mother-daughter duo have a war of words, and Barbara accuses Jenelle of not being responsible with her money and not wanting her on Jace.
Kieffer and Jenelle yell at Barbara — who has full custody of Jace and takes good care of him — for being nothing but a Walmart deli counter employee. Then Barbara throws Kieffer’s legal troubles back in their face, and the ex-con shouts what’s probably the best line in all of Teen Mom history:
“So? Being a felon ain’t illegal,” Kieffer shouts.
Later, Jenelle’s depression becomes so overwhelming that she can’t get out of bed. She hates that she has no money (even though she doesn’t have a job besides Teen Mom 2), so Kieffer offers to spend their last $70 on “dope.” He goes to pick up the drugs — and even though the substance he gets isn’t identified, Jenelle and her current husband Courtland Rogers have both admitted that she started using heroin when she was with Kieffer.
So sad. We hope Jenelle is on a better path now.
Kailyn Sets Wedding Date With Javi
Kailyn Lowry finally sets family counseling session with her ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera per their court-ordered agreement, but her fiance Javi Marroquin says he doesn’t beleive in therapy. He says he has enough “control and respect” to keep his emotions in check, which puts Kail on the defensive — some people don’t have that control in their brains, and she sees it as a personal attack on her anger management issues and (then-undiagnosed) bipolar disorder.
During their therapy session, Kail reveals that she is worried Jo’s new girlfriend Vee will try and tak her place as mom, and that terrified her. Jo feels the same way about Javi, and is even more worried she will want to up and move with him and take their son Issac away. Unlike most of the dad on Teen Mom, Jo wants to spend as much time with his son as possible — and a few weeks a year won’t cut it.
After the therapy dession, Kailyn drops a bombshell on Jo — she and Javi are getting married next week because he is in the Air Force. As a military spouse, there’s a good chance she will have to move around for Javi and take Isaac with her. This has Jo incredibly pissed off, and he plans on having his lawyer deal with the legality of the situation.
Chelsea Celebrates Aubree’s Birthday
Chelsea Houska and her ex Adam Lind both throw separate parties for their daughter Aubree for her third birthday, because their relationship is incredibly awkward at the moment. Adam still has another girlfriend, but text Chelsea awkwardly on occasion.
Chelsea’s birthday for Aubree goes smoothly, and the bouncy castle is a huge hit. But Adam’s pool party for his little girl is anything but smooth. He spells his own daughter’s name wrong on her cake, and surprises her with a mini motorcycle, which would be awesome for a 7-year-old — but Aubree just turned 3. Plus, she’s a girly-girl like her mom, and looks repulsed by the option of engaging in any activity outside and away from a mirror.
It’s clear Adam is completely out of touch, and needs to be more involved in his daughter’s life.
Leah’s Daughter Ali Has To Get A Biopsy
After Ali’s successful therapy session in which she walked across the room, the family has an appointment with the specialist to see how Ali is developing. Leah and Corey both go for their daughter, but they recieve shocking news. The doctor warns she has low muscle tone, and they want to do a muscle biopsy to see exactly what’s wrong.
Little Ali will have to be in the hospital overnight for three days, which has Leah worried sick and not wanting to leave her baby behind. But her mom Dawn insists this could be the key to really getting Ali the help she deserves.
Leah and Corey come together as parents for their twins during such a difficult time, and it proves they have their co-parenting priorities down pat.
