Sean’s shirtless antics may have attracted millions of viewers during his stint on ‘The Bachelor,’ but Sean’s attempts to win over the judges with his half naked body isn’t working on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ as evidenced by the April 22 episode.
It was Stevie Wonder night on the April 22 episode of Dancing With the Stars. During a group dance number, Hunter Hayes surprised the audience and joined his pal Stevie on stage. The contestants danced to Stevie Wonder hits all night long and finished the night with two group numbers. Plus, Kellie Pickler and Zandaya raised the bar by earning 10s in round one!
‘Dancing With The Stars': The Scores
Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy: (29/30) Dancing the cha cha to Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do,” Zendaya’s performance was the best way to start the night. Len Goodman said their dance was full of “snap, crackle and pop!” Bruno Tonioli said it was “mesmerizing” and she could “cha cha cha” him “anytime” she wants. Whoa!
Andy Dick & Sharma Burgess: (18/30): Andy danced the samba to Stevie’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” Andy chose to focus on technicality this week, but the judges were not fans. Carrie Ann Inaba said “I had to look back and say, ‘what dance is he doing today?’ It was a little rusty.”
Sean Lowe & Peta Murgatroyd: (21/30): Sean also performed the samba to “I Wish.” The former Bachelor missed a day of rehearsals and had to learn two dances. Unfortunately, Sean’s absence showed in his samba. Len said “Sean, you have to set your sights higher if Andy is all you want to beat. You kept getting on the wrong foot. Your upper body had no musicality.” Bruno said, “Sean, look at the bright side. You can always get a job as a stripper. If you got it, flaunt it.”
Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas: (27/30): Aly did the fox trot to “Isn’t She Lovely.” The Boston native had a hard time rehearsing because she was very affected by the marathon bombings. Aly managed to overcome her sadness because she rocked it out on the dance floor. Len said, “It was a really foxy fox trot.” Bruno said, “pretty as a picture.”
Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson: (24/30): On his birthday, Ingo danced the tango to “Uptight (Everything’s Alright).” “Oh yes, Ingo, you can turn it on when you want to,” Bruno excitedly said. There were a couple of foot faults, but all in all, the judges said “that was the way to do it.”
Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough: (29/30): The blonde beauty and blond hottie danced the quickstep to Stevie’s “Part Time Lover.” Carrie Ann said it was “perfect” in so many way. “For me, that’s the best dance I’ve seen on season 16,” Len added. The dancing duo received their first 10s of the season!
Victor Ortiz & Lindsay Arnold: (18/30): Victor did the rumba to “I Just Called To Say I Love You.” Having never danced with a woman romantically, Victor struggled a bit with this week’s routine. “It looked a bit like an airline safety drill,” Bruno told Victor. On a positive note, Carrie Ann said that Victor and Lindsay have great chemistry. In fact, Victor confessed his love for Lindsay before hearing their scores!
Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff: (23/30): Jacoby and Karina did the quickstep to “For Once In My Life.” Taking their dance into the audience — literally — this duo finished round one with a stellar dance routine. The judges, however, had mixed feelings.
