The older Chechen terrorist, who executed the deadly Boston Marathon bombings, leaves behind a young wife from Rhode Island named Katherine, and a precious daughter Zahara, 3. Read on for more shocking details.
Slain Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was not only a suspected terrorist murderer who allegedly killed three people during the April 15 attacks — he was also a young husband and father. His wife, Katherine Russell, 24, is now a widow and single mom to their precious daughter, 3-year-old Zahara after the Chechen bomber was killed by police.
Tamerlan Tsarnev’s Family: Leaves Behind Wife & Daughter
Before engaging in the deadly April 15 terrorist attack, Tamerlan lived a seemingly normal and quiet life with his wife Katherine and their daughter, Zahara. A neighbor tells the Daily Mail that she converted to Islam for her husband. The source says:
“I knew she was married and she had converted to Islam. She went away to college about three or four years ago, and I saw her a year later and she was dressed in the Islamic style. Her hair was covered and she was wearing very baggy, flowy clothing.”
The source also says the couple had moved to Massachusetts, but would come up to Rhode Island most weekends — until the wife moved back home with her family, and Tamerlan wasn’t to be seen. The source adds:
“She moved back home and was living at home with the baby. I never saw him again, I thought maybe he’s gone away or he’s busy with school.”
Tamerlan & Dzhokhar Tsarnaev: Suspects Behind Boston Bombing
On April 18, the two brothers were identified by authorities as the suspects behind the deadly Boston Marathon bombing. Later that night, the brothers were reportedly involved in a deadly shootout with police.
Tamerlan was killed during the standoff, and CNN reports that his brother Dzhokhar ran him over and drove away. CNN is reporting that when Tamerlan was brought to a hospital in critical condition from gunshot wounds, it was discovered that he had explosives strapped to his body. He was later pronounced dead.
So tragic for everyone involved. Our thoughts are with their families during this difficult time.
