The star opted for an easy breezy style, sporting a sleeveless dress and flat sandals, but was the phone print pretty or just pretty weird? VOTE!
After a busy weekend of enjoying the sun at the Coachella Music Festival, it looks like the usually trendy 28-year-old songstress opted for something much more casual. Katy Perry flaunted a more comfy vibe when she stepped out for the 2013 ASCAP ‘I Create Music’ Expo on April 18.
Katy Perry ASCAP ‘I Create Music’ Expo Dress:
There is no doubt that the star is known for her bold fashion statements so it comes as no surprise that she managed to steal the spotlight even if she was dressing more casual. The “California Girl” singer donned a knee-length frock from Suno‘s Spring 2013 collection. The shirtdress was decorated with larger-than-life cell phones and while we liked the quirky vibe of the ensemble the silhouette and the pattern seemed to overwhelm Katy’s svelte frame. Katy kept the rest of the look comfortable, pairing the loose dress with flat wedge sandals by Aldo Shoes. Her shoes were embellished with silver metallic gems and held a summery, Katy-like feel. Not only are the wedges affordable and stylish, they showed off a more modern side of the raven haired beauty.
Katy’s curvy frame is certainly one to show off, and unfortunately this dress gave the star a box-like appearance — it did her no justice! Hopefully the songstress will go back to showing off her figure in a slew of more fitting ensembles. While we adore Katy’s willingness to experiment with all fashionable trends, this look was a just a tad too childlike for my liking.
What do you think? Was the phone dress unflattering on Katy’s frame or did you love Katy’s quirky and casual sense of style? VOTE!
