A suspicious package was found at LaGuardia Airport in New York City on April 16, prompting a terminal to be evacuated. Do you think this new development is connected to the Boston Marathon bombings?
A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Steve Coleman, revealed in an email that the central terminal building (Terminal D) at LaGuardia Airport in New York City was evacuated on April 16 after a suspicious package was found. Port Authority Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit and the New York City Police Department’s bomb squad are now on the scene.
LaGuardia Airport Evacuated
The FAA issued a ground stop, prohibiting all planes from flying, until at least noon EDT on April 16, according to Bloomberg News.
Multiple reports on Twitter confirm the terminal has been evacuated.
The NYC airport was evacuated one day after two explosions rocked Boston during their annual marathon. The explosions on April 15 claimed the lives of three people, including 8-year-old Martin Richard, and injured least 176. Sadly, the number continues to grow.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Could these two events be related? At the time, there are no further details.
