There were two explosions at the Boston marathon on April 15, and during the tragic and terrifying event, 176 people were injured and three were killed. In a press conference on April 16, the police and state officials spoke about the awful event, why it happened, and what they are doing now to find the perpetrator. Press Conference Of Boston Marathon Bombings — What Really Happened
“There were reports that there were seven unexploded devices still lying around the city, but that is not true,” said a state official on April 16. “There were only two devices, and they were the ones that went off. There are no known additional threats.”
The officials said that assistance from the public remains critical, and that the FBI is logically following up on a series of leads. There is a high volume of evidence and leads, and thirty forensic experts at currently at the scene, combing for evidence.
They also promised to find out “who did this and why.”
Police highly suspect that this was a terrorist attack.
Boston Police think the attack was an act of terrorism. CNN called the tragedy a “well-planned event.”
CBS News reports that police discovered a surveillance video showing someone carrying multiple backpacks into the area about 20 minutes before explosions.
The area has since been secured, and police are combing the crime scene for evidence.
