The ‘Real Housewives of New York’ star, who’s all-too-familiar with the pain of losing a limb, is now reaching out with support.
We’ve all been touched by the tragic images of the Boston Marathon bombing victims, but for Real Housewives of New York‘s Aviva Drescher, the idea of losing a limb in a horrific accident hits very close to home. Aviva lost one of her legs in a farm accident when she was six years old, and she tells RadarOnline.com she wants to do whatever she can to help people left limb-less by the tragic explosions in Boston.
“To anyone who has suffered limb loss, I am here for information and guidance,” Aviva tells the site. “I would love to talk with anyone, listen to their story and give any advice or support they need. This is a vile tragedy, but a time to unite with compassion.”
Well said, Aviva!
More Celebs React To Boston Marathon Tragedy
Of course, Aviva isn’t alone in her efforts. Many celebrities have used Twitter to express their condolences, and to reach out with any support they can.
“Sending prayers to everyone who was/is at the #bostonmarathon,” Lindsay Lohan tweeted very soon after the explosions occurred.
Boston native Maria Menuonos added, “Praying for everyone home in boston. Devatated at the news #bostonmarathon.”
Naturally, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama also tweeted about the historic event:
“All Americans stand with the people of Boston,” read a tweet from the POTUS’ official account. “Michelle and I send our deepest thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims in the wake of this senseless loss.”
