Zendaya has been dancing hip hop and let me tell you that it is completely different from ballroom. People who say otherwise don’t know anything about the two different styles. I don’t understand people who complain about her hip hop background. Kellie also has a dancing background and cheerleading experience. I dont see people harking Kellie about that. Also, people dont realize that Zendaya gets less practice time because she is a minor, so people just need to stop all this ‘its not fair’ business. I also think people don’t realize that height is also a factor in ballroom dancing. Ballroom is more difficult for taller individuals (especially tall females) due to their higher center of gravity. As a dancer myself, I have to applaud Zendaya for her quality of movement despite her tall height.

The reason she didn’t get points taken off for lifts is because the argentian tango is the one dance that they do on the show does that lifts are allowed.

She shouldnt even be on the show. First of all she is a dancer on her own video on Disney. She may not be a ball room dancer but she already knows terms used and has experience the other dancers do not have. She is also used to choreography and instructions for dance. She has a strong background in different types of dancing and dancing moves. Secondly is her age. They should have an age limit they cant be under. She is so young she still has the high energy level of a child. She still is a child. Everyone oohs and aahs over her but she doesnt do the full routines with the sexiness required of the other dancers for some of the latin routines because of her age. While I am glad she isnt trying to be a sex kitten at her age I dont think it right the others are judged on the sexy aspect when she isnt. This criteria isnt fair to the older less experienced stars. They have no back ground in dance. They are over the age of 18 so the body stiffens some and the energy levels are harder to maintain. They are starting from scratch learning something that is as foreign to them as rocket science is to the average American. If they are going to be on the show then there should be rules regarding the level of experience and the ages of the contestants.

How come Lindaey and Victor lost a point from Carrienne for lifts but Zendaya and Val did not?

your right they have a different value system for her and it isnt right. She needs to go. She has more dance experience and is younger….they need rules regarding the contestants….see my post for full rant on the inconsistancies of the show.
