The ‘Teen Mom 2’ star originally had six assault charges out against her hubby, but decided to drop the charges after the two reconciled. But prosecutors still want to pursue legal action against Courtland! Read on for more details.
In January, Jenelle Evans filed six assault charges against her then-estranged husband Courtland Rogers — four counts of assault on a female, and two counts of battery on an unborn child — but after getting back together and vowing to work on their marriage two short months later, the Teen Mom 2 star wants to drop the charges.
But even if Jenelle wants to stop any legal action from taking place against her hubby, the State of North Carolina is not so quick to forget!
“Jenelle already dropped the charges, but due to the severity of her claims the state has now picked them up and is going to get to the bottom of this,” a source tells RadarOnline.com.
Jenelle Evans May Have To Admit She Falsified Charges
The Teen Mom 2 star is expected to attend a hearing on April 8 to decide if the charges should stick, or if Jenelle has to admit that she falsified the claims, according to RadarOnline.com. But if she wants the charges dropped, she may just have to admit she made them up!
“Falsifying charges is a big issue,” the source added. But Courtland’s parents Carson and Holley are expected to take the stand and reveal their son did not get physical with his wife, since they were there that night.
“They are going to stick by the fact that he did not beat Jenelle because they were there with him that night,” the source said. “There was an argument, but not a physical fight. The papers she took out on him are false and that will be stated on the stand by both Carson and Holley.”
Looks like Jenelle and Courtland have found themselves in a complicated legal situation!
