Louisville’s Kevin Ware is feeling the love as he recovers from surgery. One special group of guys even brought the basketball player to tears. Read on for all the details!
Kevin Ware, who suffered a gruesome leg injury during a game against Duke University on March 31, is receiving “really positive calls” from well wishers, Cardinals coach Rick Pitino says. All the love brought tears to Kevin’s eyes.
Kevin Ware Cries As His Team Wishes Him Well
Among those well wishers is Kevin’s team, the Cardinals, who finished the game victoriously against Duke on March 31.
“Right before the surgery, when he was able to watch [his teammates] at the press conference, the nurses and doctors told me that was the first time he broke down and cried, when the players were talking about him,” Rick said.
Kevin tweeted on April 1: “I’m thankful for all the support I’m receiving right now. Never thought I’d be the talk of the country.”
Rick Ware Celebrates The Cardinals’ Win In His Own Special Way
Furthermore, Rick took the Final Four trophy to Kevin in the hospital.
“He was real excited about it,” Rick said. “I said to him, ‘You want me to bring it back or stay with you?’ He said, ‘It’s staying with me.’ I said, ‘All right, just make sure you don’t lose it.’ He’s very excited.”
Rick was released from this hospital on April 2. Let’s hope he has a speedy recovery!
