The ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ star looked stunning on the red carpet of the film’s Hollywood premiere on March 28. The hairstylist who created her sweet updo is spilling his top tips so you can get her look at home.

Celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea, who has worked with stars like Naomi Watts and Emmy Rossum, created the look for Adrianne Palicki. It’s perfect not only for a movie premiere, but for prom or a wedding as well! Giannandrea tells you how to get the exact look below.

Adrianne Palicki’s Hair — Her Romantic Updo

“For the premiere, I started with wet hair and applied ECRU Marine Styling Balm to the whole head. I combed it all the way through and titled her head upside down. I used my hands to rough up the hair, side to side and backwards, to create volume. After the hair was dry, I brushed it all the way through and backwards with a flat brush,” Giannandrea explains.

“Next, I applied a combination of ECRU Acacia Protein Oil and ECRU Silk Texturizing Balm into my palms and ran my fingers through the whole head. This creates shine separation and strong texture.

Finally, I took a 1/2 inch curling iron and created curls throughout the whole head. I used hairspray to give definition. I took bobby pins and starting from the top, twisted little sections back behind the ear. Make sure that the pins are not showing as you twist and lock the pins in place by hiding them with more hair.”

“I let her hair flow down in the back, leaving the texture soft and kept the separating part showing on the sides,” Giannandrea says.
