The Buckwild star, 21, was found dead in a ravine near his West Virginia home with his uncle David Gandee and a third unidentified person, and a new report says the cause of death for all three people was carbon monoxide poisoning. Did Shain Gandee Die From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning?
HollywoodLife.com previously reported that Shain was four wheeling in his truck with his uncle and a friend, when they were found dead inside the vehicle at 11.30am in a wooded area near Shain’s Sissonville home.
Shain, David and his friend reportedly died from carbon monoxide poisoning, reports TMZ. Shain’s 1984 Bronco was stuck knee-deep in mud in the middle of a rural area, and the only way to reach it was with an all terrain vehicle, according to a source.
It is believed that the car have crashed and the three people died from carbon monoxide poisoning after the exhaust pipe came to be submerged in mud. The car continued running and the carbon monoxide poisoned them because it was stuck in mud. They were discovered by a passing ATV rider, who was a friend of Shain’s.
Shain Gandee’s Death — The Police Confirm His Passing & Death Details
The Kanawha Sheriff’s Office tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
“Earlier this day after releasing information Shain Gandee was missing, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office received word of a disabled vehicle in a wooded area near Thaxton Hollow, Sissonville, Kanawha County WV. Deputies and members of the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department used all terrain vehicles to access that vehicle, a 1984 Ford Bronco belonging to the Gandee family. The vehicle was in a muddy area along a worn path. Inside were the bodies of three people.”
“Shain Lelyn Gandee (21 years old) and David Dwight Gandee (48 years old) were deceased in the vehicle. The third person has not been positively identified. There was no sign of foul play. The causes of death are still under investigation and will likely be determined following an autopsy by the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.”
“Prior to locating the vehicle the West Virginia State Police Aviation Unit was prepared to take a helicopter over the area to assist in searching for the vehicle.”
