Richard Griffiths Dead At 65 Years Old

Richard, 65, died in England following his surgery, reports TMZ. He is survived by his wife, Heather Gibson. This is such sad news! Richard’s co-star Daniel released a statement regarding his death, and he said that he was “proud” to know him. “Richard was by my side during two of the most important moments of my career … any room he walked into was made twice as funny and twice as clever just by his presence. I am proud to say I knew him,” said Daniel. Daniel is referring to the famous wizard movies, and also his role in Equus, a play where he got naked that Richard also appeared in. Richard is the second notable actor from the massive film franchise to die, as Richard Harris died in 2002 after playing Albus Dumbledore in the first two films. He was later replaced by Sir Michael Gambon. Richard also starred in Withnail & I, The History Boys and Pie In The Sky. Richard is most notable for playing Harry’s red-faced muggle uncle, who despises Harry and hates everything magical. In the films, he prefers his own son Dudley over Harry, and treats him like a prince and Harry like a pauper. Our thoughts go out to Richard’s wife and family. What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are YOU sad to hear of Richard’s death?
