Vanessa Hudgens is stoking the fire around the rumors that Selena Gomez and rapper Gucci Mane hooked up during the filming of Spring Breakers. Are her comments harmless, or is Vanessa playing coy about the possible affair?
Vanessa Hudgens: ‘Selena Loves Gucci’
During the interview, Vanessa first admits that she and Selena share musical tastes: “She’s down with hip-hop and older hippie music,” Vanessa says to Spin magazine.
Then asked what sort of hip-hop they listened to while filming Spring Breakers, Vanessa says, “Gucci Mane. Selena loves Gucci. He’s like her favorite artist.”
Selena Gomez & Gucci Mane: Did They Hook Up?
These comments wouldn’t be interesting if there hadn’t already been some serious intrigue between Selena and the rapper already. A report alleged that the two got very close while filming the movie. Allegedly Gucci would spend hours on end in Selena’s trailer, sometimes with the other Spring Breakers girls, but other times totally alone!
“We thought it was [odd] that she was in there with [Gucci],” an insider told MediaTakeout.com on Feb. 22. “One time [producers] sent security to make sure she was OK.”
Gucci Mane was also reportedly unconcerned that he might have been affecting Selena’s relationship with then boyfriend Justin Bieber: “[another employee] said [to Gucci], ‘Watch out or I’m telling Justin.’ [Gucci] was like ‘F*ck that lil n***a.’”
Vanessa Hudgens: Stirring The Pot?
It’s totally possible that Vanessa only meant that Selena enjoys Gucci Mane’s music. But, she’s not stupid, she’s surely heard the crazy rumors swirling around Selena and Gucci, so why would she knowingly add more fuel to the fire? She’s either coyly alluding to it or she’s just stoking the fire to reignite a rumor that she and her friends know is laughably untrue.
