Crying Babies In The Middle Of The Night End One In Three Marriages

Screaming Kids Divorce

According to a new study, one-third of married couples with children will split due to sleepless nights — because their screaming babies keep them up! Are YOU surprised by the findings?

There are many reasons why marriages end, but a new study claims crying babies are a major cause for parents splitting up! The study, conducted by the show Bedtime Live on British TV station Channel 4, polled 2,000 parents about how much sleep they get each night, and the reason for their lack of sleep.

Split-up parents were also asked about the cause behind their failed relationship. Almost a third of the separated parents questioned attributed restless nights due to kids as the reason for the conclusion of their marriage!

Doctors recommend adults to get at least seven hours of sleep, but many parents with little children only get about six hours each night! The poll collected quite a bit of statistics regarding how a shortage of sleep has affected some parents.

Tired Parents Asleep At The Wheel

Crying children can keep moms and dads up all through the night, and then the parents have to get up the next morning for work or errands. But they are so tired, that some fall asleep behind the wheel — which one in 20 people polled said they had done before!

“Behavioural difficulties, family issues, learning and concentration issues: there is a significant number of these common problems which have poor sleep at the heart of it,” Psychologist Tanya Byron, who appears on Bedtime Live, said, according to the Daily Mail.

Couples Who Sleep More, Last Longer

The recent polling by Channel 4 isn’t the only research that has been done on this matter. Scholars from the University of Berkeley, California, discovered that getting more sleep caused couples to be nicer to one another, and scientists in the United States learned that couples receiving the recommended amount of sleep will also act more selfless.

What do YOU think of the findings HollyMoms? Are crying children the reason that a lot of marriages end?

Birth control or have yourself fixed. Just because you are married doesnt mean you must have children. Children will statistically be the cause of your divorce admit it or not. When it is easy to just take a pill and forget it why risk a break up. Live is much better since we decided to not have the little devils. We can leave for a vacation at a split second or stay out late act irresponsible etc who do we have to answer to. Leave the kids out of a marriage and experience a fuller life.

This whole “study” is stupid. Way to blame your failed marriages on your children! Maybe since the parents are the adults, maybe they should work it out and find a sensible solution!
