Lindsay stands trial on Mar. 18 for allegedly lying to cops last summer. What will happen when the hearing begins? Will she even show up? Watch to find out!
Lindsay Lohan was expected in court on Mar. 18, facing charges that she lied to police after a car accident in Santa Monica last summer. But 49 minutes went by and Lindsay still hadn’t arrived!
After missing a flight from New York to Los Angeles on Saturday, Mar. 16, people began to fear that Lindsay would flake out on yet another court date. She ended up hopping on a friend’s private plane for a red eye flight on Sunday. But at 8:15 am PST she still hadn’t landed for her 8:30 am hearing time. The flight FINALLY landed at 8:55 am, Radar reports.
Lindsay will be joined by her New York-based lawyer, Mark Heller, who has been criticized by the trial’s judge as being incompetent and unable to counsel Lindsay to the degree that the law affords. Mark may try to again ask for the trial to be delayed, Radar reports — a request that is likely to be denied.
The exact charges that Lindsay faces are misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, providing false information to an officer and willfully resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer.
Though there have been rumors that Lindsay would take a plea bargain and forego a full trial, her legal strategy has not been confirmed.
If the judge decides that these misdemeanor counts violate her probation, she could face significant jail time. You’ll recall that Lindsay was sentenced to probation in 2011 after her necklace theft case.
