In a revealing new interview, the ‘Twilight’ author says she takes all the blame for Rob and Kristen’s troubled relationship and for putting them in the public eye. Is she right?

The author of the Twilight saga, Stephenie Meyer is coming clean in a new interview, admitting that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s troubles are “absolutely” her fault.

Stephenie Meyer Feels Responsible For Rob & Kristen

Broaching the topic of whether or not Stephenie feels responsible for exposing her young stars to unimaginable public scrutiny with the British magazine The Times, she says, “Absolutely.” Stephenie continues saying that her guilt hurts even worse because neither Rob nor Kristen are attention junkies.

“Here’s the thing: there are some actors who are looking to be world famous, to be that household name, and although they might discover that there are a lot of negative things involved in that, it’s what they want. But that doesn’t apply to Kristen and Rob. That’s what makes it kind of ironic and tragic.”

Stephenie continues and introduces a hypothetical situation that we’ve never though of: “If they had the choice,” she says, “I’ve no idea if they’d even do Twilight again. I just don’t know. I think this has all come at a heavy price.”

It’s an interesting question: After having their lives altered so drastically, would Rob and Kristen do it again?

RPatz and KStew obviously have Twilight – and Stephenie Meyer — to thank for a few things. Both of their careers skyrocketed because of the series and now they can pretty much choose where they want to go from here. And in more intimate terms, Rob and Kristen’s relationship grew out of Bella and Edward, so they can thank the movies for that as well.

Then again, the unbelievable popularity of the movie may have brought unwanted demand on Rob and Kristen and unavoidable pressure to their relationship. The unending exposure might have contributed to the couple’s separation, so perhaps they’d prefer that the relationship never even began — that’s what Stephenie seems to be suggesting.
