Looking good, Rob! A new still from the ‘Twilight’ star’s futuristic Western hit the internet on Mar. 15, and proved that he wasn’t afraid to get a little dirty. Is it just us, or does he look pretty good all bloodied up?!
The Rover is a far cry from Twilight – Robert Pattinson is making sure of that. The new picture from the set of the movie shows Rob getting rough and tumble… and we like what we see!
Robert Pattinson: Down & Dirty In ‘The Rover’
The new still, taken and posted by still photographer Matt Nettheim, is of the The Rover’s two main characters, Rob and Guy Pearce, in a bit of a scuffle. A scuffle that Rob appears to have lost, judging by the gun in his face.
Even though he got his butt kicked, we’re liking this side of R-Patz. He’s like a million times manlier than those underwear modeling photos!
Robert Pattinson: ‘The Rover’ Is A New Challenge
The new picture is just further confirmation of what we already knew — that this role is one of the grittiest Rob has ever played. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the movie’s director David Michod said that Rob’s character is “quite troubled and damaged,” before adding that he’s also a “beautiful and naive soul.”
Overall, David is calling the movie “chillingly authentic and menacing” Rob has played challenging, off-beat characters before, but we still totally think of him as Edward Cullen. Maybe playing a down and dirty, complex character like this can change that. Our mouths are already watering with excitement to see this!

Rob looks Intense , Guy is like Snarling ! lol !! I am going to love this one . I think this will be liked by a larger audience than cosmopolis . Hoping this gets a wider release !

I am so excited for this film! The first look and the set pictures we’ve seen are fantastic. Very gritty and looks to be full of action/danger. Rob is making such excellent movie choices, so varied and challenging with stellar directors/cast. The Rover is an excellent follow-up for him from Cosmopolis.

The Rover is a futuristic western .Rob plays the younger brother of a ganster , His name in the movie is Reynolds……Rey !The gang steals Guy’s only possession , his car . Rey is injured and is left behind . Guy takes Rey’s help to catch the thieves ………..This is available on lot of sites but this movie looks like so much more ….I just love the still ….I am definitely watching this one and so is my BF

Does anyone know the background on his character? How does he fit into the story? I think its a brother……..but can’t remember.
The first official still from The Rover came out today. and the response has been GREAT! i think rob is going to be really good in the rover it look good from what i have seen and it shows that rob can play diffrent charaters and not just kind ones such as edward cullen or tyler hawkins.
