Mama June Shannon: Honey Boo Boo Doesn't Need To Know Manners

Honey Boo Boo may be a household name, but Mama June told GMA in a new interview on March 15 that she doesn’t feel the need to teach her any household manners.

Honey Boo Boo does what Honey Boo Boo wants to do. Alana Thompson, Honey’s real name, is known for her crazy, over-the-top attitude on the hit reality TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and she shows no signs of letting that go. Her mom, June Shannon, even encourages Alana to act however she wants!

Mama June tells GMA that manners are “not really” that important to her and fans know that she means it after watching her reality show for even a minute. Alana screams, demands, and throws temper tantrums like it is nobody’s business. Except for, well, the fact that it’s everyone’s business since she is on television.

As hyped-up as Alana might be, her mom wouldn’t want her any other way. June wants her children to be their true selves, however foolish that means they’ll act.

“I want my kids to have their own personality,” June tells GMA. “I allow them to be whoever they want .”

Alana Becomes Taking Over June’s Role As Mama

When it comes to parenting, Alana has a few opinions. She has strong ones especially about parents always putting their kids first.

“If you don’t do it, you’re a mean momma,” said the one and only Honey Boo Boo.

Perhaps people should take this little pageant star more seriously because she does happen to make the big bucks! Fame doesn’t seem to be at the top of Alana’s mind, but one perk of being on a reality show sure is.

“Alana doesn’t realize how famous she is, but she understands the money that she gets,” Mama June says in the interview.

Alana Is Not Just Hungry, But Also Money Hungry

After her mom talks about money, Honey Boo Boo had no other choice, of course, but to demand “$1,000 in my pocket right now,” which she said with quite conviction.

Honey and June were perfect on the interview, going back-and-forth between each other, but then again they are used to that because of their show. One thing is exactly the same between the show and in the interview: Honey Boo Boo gets the final say. And what did this outspoken, young girl have to tell the world?

“Good Morning America, harlem shake edition,” Boo Boo says at the end of her interview and proceeds to dance it out.
