Taylor released her latest music video on March 13, the same day her ‘Red’ tour began! She reveled a sneak peak of the new single on ‘Good Morning America,’ and added she filmed it with her best friends! Watch the video’s ‘GMA’ premiere.
Taylor Swift‘s music video for “22″ has been hotly anticipated ever since the country cutie was seen filming the clip in Zuma Beach, CA in early February. After all, this is the video where she dressed up like ex-boyfriend Harry Styles to sing about making “fun of our exes!”
Taylor Swift Gives Sweet Message To Fans On ‘GMA’
Taylor added a special message before revealing the sneak peak clip.
“Hey GMA, it’s Taylor. It’s March 13 and I’m here in Omaha, Nebraska where my Red tour is about to kick off tonight,” Taylor said in a special video recording on Good Morning America.
“I can’t wait for you guys to see the show, and I can’t wait see you on the road. Since 13 is my lucky number, today also seems like the perfect time to release my brand new video for a song called 22. We shot this video last month in Malibu. I never had this fun shooting a video because my friends in the video are actually my real life best friends,” she added.

Taylor, 23, gave her fans an early look at the video, directed by Anthony Mandler, with a 30 second clip that aired on Good Morning America. The full video premiered on the show’s website at 8:30 am ET. The singer announced the premiere date on Monday, Mar. 11 reminding her fans that 13 is her lucky number, which is why both the video premiered and her Red Tour started that day. “The 22 video premieres AND the Red Tour starts on Wednesday! Yes, that’s the 13th. Yes, that’s on purpose,” she wrote.
In the video, Taylor is seen having fun with her friends. She wears a beanie that looks a lot like one that Harry sometimes wears, and she gives peace signs at the end of the video. Is she saying “see ya” to Harry?
The recently single star sported an embellished sequin tee by Ashish that said ‘Not a lot going on at the moment’ — and the phrase was totally accurate!
In the video, Taylor and her girlfriends — including Gossip Girl‘s Jessica Shorz — are clearly laughing and having a good time, and don’t need boyfriends in their lives! This is an exciting new direction for Taylor, who is usually singing about a boy who broke her heart.
This isn’t the first time TayTay has worked with Anthony. The director also collaborated with the singer on her “I Knew You Were Trouble” video, which was released in late 2012. “I think that the Rihannas, the Beyoncés, the Jay-Zs, they’re always willing to tear things down and re-create themselves,” he told MTV News last December, about working on the previous video.
“[And what] I’m hoping is that this is the first moment in a new chapter for Taylor, that this is a left turn on her path that will lead to new and different things … it will give her the confidence and power to do different things, to be able to broaden and take her fanbase on a journey that’s unexpected. And that is, to me, what prolongs people’s careers.”
