So sad. A Nashville woman, who was secretly pregnant with twins, gave birth in her parents’ bathroom, only to smother both of them — and leave them to die in a laundry basket. Read on for more shocking details.
Lindsey Lowe, 26, claims that no one knew she was pregnant. So when she went into labor at her parents’ house in September 2011 and delivered a set of twin boys in a toilet, she says she panicked — and that’s why she smothered them with a towel, and left their dead bodies in a laundry basket.
She sobbed in front of a court on March 12 while authorities detailed the horrific crime scene they witnessed. Two police officers revealed they discovered the infants after her father called 911 when he made the shocking discovery.
“After I pulled the bloody towel back, I saw a deceased infant,” Officer Jeremy Fentress told the court.
Lindsey Lowe Reveals How She Smuggled Her Babies
In her police confession, Lindsey admitted that once she delivered the babies, she covered their mouths so no one could hear their screams. She then wrapped them in towels and left them in a laundry basket, but was too upset to check on them afterwards.
Lindsey Lowe’s Defense Team Say She Was Not Mentally Stable
While the prosecution argued Lindsey didn’t want to face the fact that she was pregnant and didn’t want to accept responsibility — especially after DNA tests confirmed the paternity of the babies weer a man she had an affair with when she was engaged to her college sweetheart — her defense team said she was not of sound mind when he went into labor.
Both sides alleged Lindsey certainly didn’t act like a pregnant woman. No one knew, and she had been drinking and dancing at a friend’s wedding the week before.
Such a tragedy. We hope everyone finds peace in this tragic situation.
