Gwyneth Paltrow’s Depriving Her Kids Of Brain Healthy Grains, Expert Says

The Oscar winning actress created quite the bit of controversy with her new cookbook and diet practices! The blonde admitted that avoiding carbs leaves her children with ‘a specific hunger.’ Oh no!

Although no one in her family has an allergy to glucose, Gwyneth Paltrow avoids giving grains to her family, which includes her son Moses, 6 and daughter Apple, 8. But our expert, Jackie Keller, nutritionist and Founding Director of NutriFit, claims this is a big mistake!

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Kids’ Diet: NOT Healthy

“It is not well advised,” said the nutritionist. “They provide minerals and they are complex carbohydrates. Our brain needs carbohydrates for our brain to properly function.”

Gwyneth Claims That Gluten Is Bad

In Gwyneth’s book, she writes “Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across . . . seems to concur that (gluten) is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it.”
However, Jackie says this is not true!

“It is a gross overstatement of science as we know it,” she says. “Grains is for brains!” This is an old statement, but Jackie says it is very true. They are a source of magnesium, Vitamin E, antioxidants, and OMGEA 3 fatty acids. Wholesome whole grains also have fiber. Then she posed a very serious question.

“Where does she think her kids are going to get fiber? Vegetables?” The nutrition expert says it’s really hard to get the full source of fiber from vegetables alone. “I would never do that to my child, and I raised three.”

Avoiding Grains Is Discouraged

HollywoodLife.com also talked to pediatrician, Dr. Robert Hamilton, who also discourages avoiding grains.

“I feel it’s unnecessary really,” he says. All around the world, the foundation of people’s diets are carbohydrates and sugar. But what about the people who don’t like simple sugar like juice or Coke?

 “I get that because you get that sugar rush if you will,” said Dr. Hamilton but he says the complex sugar in grains like bread and rice have a line linkage of glucose molecules that help make energy.

Gwyneth May Be Putting Her Kids At Risk!

Jackie Keller then explained that grains fuel the brain because it runs on glucose. The body uses these favorable grains to help ward off damage like chronic inflammation and cognitive decline. It keeps the blood flow to the body consistent. Grains also keep your digestive system, heart, and more working properly. Jackie also said that studies show that children who are malnourished don’t grow at the same rate as children who are provided all their nutrients. Their brains are smaller than normal and they can have behavioral cognitive deficits.  Dr. Hamilton also says that the kids would be more tired than most kids following this type of diet.

Just because she’s doing the vegan and healthy diet I sure don’t feel like she should deprive her kids of eating! I mean those kids are always looking for something to eat! If this is what you call discipline I believe I’m living in a different planet.

First of all, your article should say allergy to gluten, not glucose. Glucose is a sugar. Secondly, being gluten free does not mean you eliminate all ‘grains’ from your diet. Someone does not have to have a gluten intolerance or celiac disease to benefit from a gluten free diet. It is actually prescribed by many doctors.
Why don’t you stick to being a hollywood life intern and leave the health and nutritional information to people that actually know what they’re talking about! Your article makes you sound ignorant.

I don’t think she is saying she eliminated all grains from their diet. You can still avoid gluten but eat some grains like quinoa and steel cut oats and get the fiber and such from those. If I read her quote correctly, she references white rice which is a refined carb. People need to start worrying about themselves and less about so called famous people and their kids.
