Can you believe the designer is dissing the fashionable First Lady and her sense of style? What do you think of her bold remarks?
Infamous designer Vivienne Westwood, 71, was pretty brutal in terms of of how she described Michelle Obama‘s personal sense of style. The designer really dissed the First Lady and her fashion choices, saying, “It’s dreadful what she wears,” referring to the 49-year-old.
The designer continued to rant on Michelle’s style in a revealing interview with The New York Times.
“I don’t want to talk about it. Really, I can’t. She’s a very nice looking lady, but it’s a nonstarter regarding clothes that suit her. Jackie Kennedy was a different matter altogether. It just has to suit her and be something that makes a human being more glamorous. That’s what fashion is there for. It’s there to help, not just to make you look more conservative.”
It sounds like the infamous designer doesn’t think Michelle displays full-on glamour, although we couldn’t disagree more! In fact, Michelle dazzled in a show-stopping, custom-made red Jason Wu gown at the Inaugural Ball that really flattered her figure. When she isn’t wearing gorgrous gowns, the First Lady is known for mixing high and low fashion, wearing a slew of American designers and even showing off looks from J. Crew and the Gap — and she loves to rewear!
The designer certainly made a very bold move, but what do you think? Was Vivienne in the wrong for not only bashing, but criticizing Michelle? The interview went on and the rest is now history. She may feel that fashion is not as provoking as it used to be but she is, without a doubt, as provoking as ever!
Has Vivienne gone too far by slamming Michelle? VOTE!

Ms Westwood can still say what she wishes to as long as we still live in a free country. Ms. Obama rarely “stuns” with her appearance, as this story suggests, but sometimes looks more tasteful than others. Some gowns are pretty and flatter her larger body, but other outfits are just too carelessly put together, too skimpy, way too tight and short, or too bold in wild patterns that make her appear less appropriate than the first lady of the nation should. She definitely needs to stay away from silver space suits, leotards, sundresses, and low decolettes during public appearances. She also needs to say no to gaudy displays and invitations such as the Oscars deal and all the talk shows she can find. She’s overdoing the exposure. Dancing with a host who is dressed in a transgender getup is not politically correct for a first lady, imo. She is not a Hollywood star or a celebrity and needs to respect herself and her position.,Just sayin.’
