The funny ladies are firing back after Taylor suggested they’re going to hell for goofing on her.
Remember that time Taylor Swift couldn’t take a joke? Sorry, let me be more specific: Remember at the 2013 Golden Globes, when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler warned Taylor to “stay away from Michael J. Fox‘s son?” In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Taylor slammed the hostesses for their remark, saying, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Thankfully, Tina and Amy have a better sense of humor.
“If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron,” Tina told Entertainment Tonight at the NYC premiere of Admission. ”I did not see that one coming. It was a joke. It was a lighthearted joke.”
Amy, for whatever reason, was more sympathetic to Taylor — who really should just be able to take a freakin’ joke.
“Aw, I feel bad if she was upset,” Amy told The Hollywood Reporter. “I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”
Why Taylor Not Getting Amy & Tina’s Joke Is Kind Of Hilarious
There’s a beautiful irony in Taylor’s remark about “women who don’t help other women,” though I’m sure it would go right over Taylor’s boy-crazy head. Not only have Tina and Amy made incredible strides for women in their careers — Tina has helped paved the way for female comedy writers, while Amy’s Smart Girls YouTube channel is devoted to the empowerment of young girls — but Taylor has literally done the opposite.
Taylor’s entire career is based around letting boys and relationships determine her happiness — hence every song she’s ever written. Ever. Basically, she’s the reason guys think girls are crazy stalkers, so she has no right to talk about “women who don’t help other women.”
HollywoodLifers, whose side are you on? Does Taylor need to learn to take a joke, or were Tina and Amy more hurtful than they — or I — realized? Drop a comment with your take on the situation!

Wow, the teen army is really risen up to defend their Ice Queen…I really think Taylor Swift is just a spoiled little princess, that thinks the world revolves around her and I really don’t want to get to “her music”, because I have grown past 14 years old and every noise, coming from her, just makes my ears hurt. OK, but it is not about her “music”, it is about her attitude and her really stupid, frigid personality. I think that Amy and Tina Fey were extremely funny at the Globes, they had some hard jokes, especially on Tarantino and James Cameron, but really – they are men, accomplished so much more than a stupid teen girl, and yet, they met those jokes with nothing but smiles and understanding. Even if they were a little stung by those remarks, they were men enough to suck it up and let it go – because everyone understands, when a joke is meant to be offensive and mean, and when a joke is nothing more than a joke. And really – if she doesn’t deserve to be told, to stay away from innocent boys, then I don’t know who is. Not only is she untalented singer and really dull songwriter, but she is a stupid, teen slut, that thinks, only because there are so many idiot teens in the world, that adore her, she is some big star. When she is in business for 30,40 years, when she sells as many records as Sting, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Kiss or any other real music legend, then she can start acting like a star. Now, she is just a talentless, confused teen girl, with more fans than actual talent.
