With talk of Jay Leno being replaced on ‘The Tonight Show’ by fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon at a fever pitch, HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY has learned why NBC is actually ‘scared’ to pull off the move!

After industry sources told The Hollywood Reporter that NBC was eyeing to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon in the coveted 11:35 PM time slot in 2014, HollywoodLife.com has learned that a move of this magnitude may actually not take place. You may be surprised with the reason why!

Is Jimmy Fallon Replacing Jay Leno As ‘Tonight Show’ Host?

“Talk has been made of a change from Jay to Jimmy, but not as serious as it’s been believed and hyped in the media because NBC is scared if they do it, they think that Jay would go elsewhere. So the announcement of a change is not imminent and they are more prone on signing Jay to another contract” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Jay, who is signed with NBC through 2014, may keep his job because, as another source told HollywoodLife.com, he has other outlets if a change occurs. We were told, “Jay Leno would be pursued immediately if he left NBC and a contract would be given to him from FOX. All he would have to do is say ‘Yes’ because Fox would be extremely interested.”

So what do you think of the potential late night shakeup, HollywoodLifers? It seems like it would be more drama then needed. Just ask Conan O’Brien!

Well, E! confirmed the news the other day…so this must be more of a done deal than thought. Leno’s numbers have sunk below Conan’s Tonight Show numbers…he’s not as marketable as thought. This story sounds like a Leno team plant.

Since I do not watch late night tv, I really have no say, however, I like Jay Leno much better than Jimmy. His comedy style is much more to my liking.
