Emma is swapping her wand for a glass slipper! Emma will be the latest actress to star in a children’s fairy tale if she takes this role, but will she be as good as Kristen Stewart in ‘Snow White & The Huntsman’?
Emma Watson may soon be reuniting with her Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets co-star Kenneth Branagh for a remake of Cinderella. How cool! Emma, 22, is in talks with Disney to slip on those famous glass slippers and find her Prince Charming. Kenneth will direct the film, and Cate Blanchett will play Emma’s evil stepmother. Do YOU think she’ll be as good as Kristen Stewart in Snow White & The Huntsman?
Emma Watson To Star As Cinderella?
Emma is not yet officially confirmed to take the part of Cinderella, but she is in very early talks with the studio to play the character in the live action adaptation, reports Variety.
How exciting! Will Emma be getting down on her hands and knees to scrub the floors? Unlike Hermoine Granger, Cinderella does not have magic!
The studio hopes to begin production sometime this fall and release the film in 2014, so Emma will be making that important decision quite soon.
Emma will not be the first actress to take on the coveted role of the girl with the missing shoe, as Hilary Duff played her in A Cinderella Story (2004), while Brandy played her in the musical version simply called Cinderella (1997).
Turning fairy tales into films is becoming a popular trend lately, as Angelina Jolie‘s latest film Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty’s nemesis) is set to hit theaters this year, Amanda Seyfried starred in Red Riding Hood, while both Kristen and Lily Collins have played the role of Snow White, in SWATH and Mirror, Mirror respectively.
Will Emma be as great as Kristen at taking on an evil stepmother? Let’s hope so!
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Would you like to see Emma play Cinderella?
