One Direction was slammed at the NME Awards on Feb. 27 and he was named Villain of the Year — do you think this is wrong?
One Direction didn’t have a very good night on Feb. 27 in their hometown of London. The British boy band was named Worst Band, and Harry Styles was named Villain of the Year. Do you think that this went too far?
Harry appears to be a good sport, because he tweeted on Feb. 27, “And thank you to @NME for my award tonight. Gotta take the rough with the smooth eh?”
What Are The NME Awards?
The NME Awards were founded by a music magazine called New Musical Express. The first show was held in 1953 and the show is actually pretty legit although the trophies given to the winners of Villain of the Year and Worst Record look like a middle finger.
Who Else Won At NME
Well Harry and his boys were definitely among their peers although they were snubbed. The Rolling Stones won Best Live Band, Florence Welch won Best Solo Artist, and Best Dancefloor Anthem with Calvin Harris.

I understand that there are some directionators out there ( I’m not one :) but seriously there cant be that many out there…and One Direction had so many accomplishments in the past years, so why are they the worst? Number one albums, sold out concerts, lots of awards from all over, and whatever else and they also give so much to charity and still they are the worst? I don’t think so

Yeah, they suck sooo bad that they won the Global Brits award. Harry spent 2k on Pizza for the homeless and hes called a villian? These people need some help ASAP!!

“greatest boyband ever”
I’m sorry but seriously you need to actually listen to their music instead of letting that little brain think ooh pretty boys. Worst boyband award; well even though I despise them I guess that is a little harsh but calling them the “greatest boyband ever” that is just wrong. Go out and listen to some real music not autotuned rubbish because maybe then you will realize how bad they really our. They don’t deserve to be called a boyband, key word BAND. They don’t write all their songs and only one person even plays an instrument (badly too) ! Much love, somebody who has some brain cells and also ears which no bad music when they hear it.
Yeah that’s what u think? I just gotta say you’re sooooo wrong. Sorry. Get to know the lads, listen more to their music and you’ll understand. :)
