Despite reports that Oscar’s model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was pregnant when she was tragically murdered on the morning of Valentine’s Day, an autopsy reveals that she was not with child. Read on for more details.
After Olympic track star Oscar Pistorius shot and killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Feb. 14– a tragic incident he insists was an accident, although he is facing murder charges – reports surfaced that she could have been pregnant with their first child when she was killed. But the post-mortem has been released, and reveals the truth behind Reeva’s pregnancy.
“The post mortem would have revealed if Reeva was pregnant and it did not reveal anything like this. Maybe it comes from the other side, to garner and build up some sort of support for Oscar,” Mike Steenkamp, a spokesperson for Reeva’s family, told Times Live.
The original report came from the National Enquirer, which alleged that Reeva had been pregnant — and that is what sent Oscar on a murderous rampage.
“Police believe the pregnancy secret she revealed is what sent Pistorius over the edge and left her dead, with bullet wounds to the head, chest, pelvis and hand,” a source told The National Enquirer.
“Later that night, neighbors complained of shouting and fighting coming from the house,” the report continued. “Police were called to investigate, but it appeared to be just another lover’s spat, so nothing was done except to ask them to quiet down.”
The Night Reeva Steenkamp Was Murdered
In court on Feb. 18, Oscar’s lawyers insisted their client had absolutely no intent of killing his girlfriend Reeva when he shot four bullets into the bathroom door in the early morning of Feb. 14, hitting her with three. As his side of the story goes, Oscar believed there was an intruder in his home. When he heard noises in the bathroom, he was supposedly in bed without his prosthetic legs on and panicked.
