‘Glee’ is about to spice up my life because they’re covering ‘Wannabe’ in an upcoming season four episode! See the spoiler-y new pic!
Not only were we shocked to find out that Rachel (Lea Michele) is pregnant on Glee, but now co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed another surprising twist — the cast will be covering at least one Spice Girls song this season! It’s about time, right?
“Spice Up Your Life,” Ryan tweeted, along with a photo of Kitty (Becca Tobin) dressed as Ginger Spice, on Feb. 26, hinting that there may be a Spice Girls-themed episode coming our way!
Fans Aren’t So Happy
According to fans on Twitter, the show will be covering “Wannabe” and it will be sung by the new girls in season four’s 17th episode, “Guilty Pleasures.” Unfortunately, no originals, except for Heather Morris, will be involved.
Fans are outrages that Lea, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera and Amber Riley won’t have anything to do with the highly-anticipated cover.
While fans may be outraged, the cast is super excited — especially Becca, who tweeted on Feb. 26, “Super excited about what we are shooting today!! You guys are gonna love it!”
The Spice Girls Made History
The Spice Girls were a British pop girl group formed in 1994, who were credited for being the pioneers that paved the way for the commercial breakthrough of teen pop in the late 1990s. They are responsible for hit songs, “Wannabe,” “Spice Up Your Life,” “2 Become 1,” Viva Forever,” and “Say You’ll Be There.” They recently reunited during the Summer Olympics in London, where they performed a number of their hit songs.
