Robert, how could you not phone K.Stew and congratulate her on her stellar Oscar presenter appearance, especially after she attended the event on crutches?

Robert Pattinson, you’re usually a total gentleman AND an all-around great guy — you need to give your on-off girlfriend Kristen Stewart a much needed phone call!

Rob, I understand that you initiated a trial separation from Kristen and that you’re really trying to keep your space while you shoot The Rover in Australia.

You’ve never gotten over Kristen’s affair with Snow White & the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, HollywoodLife.com has learned. You tried because Kristen begged your forgiveness and worked so hard to win you back.

But her cheating still bothered you. We get that, and it’s totally understandable. It’s very hard for any couple – especially a young one – to survive a cheating episode.

Since you believe so strongly in monogamy, and may have even wanted to marry Kristen, it must have been even more difficult for you to get back together– which you did for a while.

Rob, You Should Have Been Clearer About The Trial Separation

In fact, you reconciled so well that Kristen was blindsided by your “trial separation” suggestion before you left for Australia, HollywoodLife.com learned.

But Rob, you clearly didn’t fully explain your feelings and how serious you were about the separation, to Kristen before she left.

She wasn’t prepared for your sudden minimal contact with her, and we learned that she was on the verge of tears all through Oscar’s night, hoping for a call or text from you, as support.

“Kristen Stewart was VERY depressed at the Oscars,” an insider told us. “She thought Robert Pattinson would at least call and congratulate her (for her presenting appearance) but he didn’t at all. She kept her phone near her and checked it for texts, but they never came.”

Rob, you have to have a little sympathy for Kirsten. She cut her foot badly before the the big night and had to come on crutches. She also may have had a cold – her voice was really hoarse. Nevertheless, she was a total trooper!

KStew Still Looked Stunning At The Oscars

No cancelling for Kristen! She looked beautiful in her ivory strapless Reem Acra gown and bravely smiled her way down the long red carpet.

When she appeared on stage with Daniel Radcliffe to present the Oscar for Best Production Design, even he said he wish he had carried her out – he felt so badly about her injured foot!

So Rob, why couldn’t you at least text her and say, “Hey, I’m proud of you”? Aren’t you planning to at least stay friends with your ex? You two have known each other for at least five years. You’ve shared so many wonderful experiences and times together.

I know Kristen hurt you, but no one feels worse about her behavior than she does, and she’s tried so hard to make it up to you.

The thing is, Rob, you kind of left Kristen dangling, and if you really were going to just break up with her, you should have just made it a clean split.

That way, at least KStew would know where she totally stands and wouldn’t keep hoping for your call like she did on Oscar night.

Rob, you really owe her a phone call in which you’re honest about your feelings. If you want a permanent split – tell her.

But if you seriously want to keep the door open, then instead, tell her what a great job she did and how beautiful she looked.
