Baby Chloe was found dumped in a Walmart bag on the streets of Houston, Texas, but miraculously the new born is alive and healthy!

On Feb. 19 a woman who was walking her dog in the Cypress section of Houston got quite a surprise when she discovered a baby in a Walmart bag! The unidentified woman’s dog picked up the baby’s scent and dragged the owner to the bag, where she discovered the newborn baby, now named Chloe. The baby girl was in perfect health, and has since been released from the hospital. Read on for all the details.

Newborn Baby Chloe Found In Walmart Bag

The woman who found Chloe called paramedics who took the baby to the Texas Children’s Hospital, reports the Houston Chronicle. She still had three inches of umbilical cord attached, and doctors believe that she dumped just hours after being born. Authorities have no idea who her mother is, or why she dumped her baby.

“She was very healthy… didn’t have a fever,” Estella Olguin of Child Protective Services told KHOU. “Fortunately, she did not suffer from being exposed to the elements that evening.”

Chloe was named by the nurses in the hospital, and she is a very smiley baby apparently!

CPS is now looking for the Chloe’s parents. Estella says that the baby’s mother does not have to claim the baby, but doctors would like to know Chloe’s medical history. Abandoning a child in the state of Texas is a three degree felony, however, and the mother could face jail time.

Chloe is now in foster care, and a judge will decide her fate on March 4, reports the Houston Chronicle.

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you happy that Chloe is healthy? Are you sad that she was abandoned?

MY LORD! I read this article in Houston Chronicle. I know exactly where that Wal-mart is. When I saw that smile, my heart just melted . I hope and pray that Baby Chloe is blessed to find a loving family who will adopt, nurture and care for her.

Safe haven laws differ by state, where i live (not texas, dont know about there) as long as you dump the baby outside a police station/firehouse/hospital you’re not breaking any laws and its treated like a voluntary adoption where the parents never have to be found. my aunt worked as a nurse and apparently its not all that uncommon

Baby Chloe has a date with destiny. The long arms of God rescued her to teach the mother a lesson. Right now she is ill at ease.
