Lindsey sat down with ‘Today’ host Matt Lauer on Feb. 25 and said that she’s absolutely determined to compete in the 2014 Olympics, despite having major knee surgery just a few weeks ago!

Lindsey Vonn isn’t letting her knee injury rule her life. The 28-year-old says that she will definitely be at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Lindsey Will Be In The Next Olympic Winter Games

Matt was talking to her about her injury and she says that her career isn’t over!

“I didn’t think it was going to be the end of my career,” she says. “I know I can, that’s just who I am. I feel like I have a lot more left to do. I struggled the first couple days after the injury … Right now my goal is to be back for 2014 Sochi. I have plenty of time to be ready for Soichi. Honestly a worst case scenario, if I trained a week before the games, I’d be fine.”

Wow, she definitely sounds confident.

How Lindsey Injured Her Knee

Lindsey had to undergo major knee surgery. It turns out that she tore the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in her right knee. But she also has a tibial fracture in her shin.

Lindsey will obviously be out for the rest of the season. But she is currently in Vail, Colo. working with her U.S. Ski Team physician William Sterett.

We are so happy to see Lindsey remaining upbeat. But do you think she is pushing herself too far by racing towards the Olympics?
