The Academy Award-winner wasn’t afraid to get emotional during his Oscars acceptance speech Feb. 24, and he got especially teary-eyed while thanking his kids! Watch the heartfelt shout-out to his family.
Emotions ran high last night during the 2013 Oscars and Ben Affleck wasn’t afraid to let his show. During Ben’s Best Picture acceptance speech for Argo, which Ben directed and starred in, he thanked his kids and his wife, Jennifer Garner, but not without a few tears filling his eyes!
Always seen out and about with his children, Ben never forgets to make time for them. His Oscars speech was no different, simply ending it with a heartfelt, “Violet, Sam and Sera, this is for you,” he said through tears.
Ben’s Kids Are Good Luck Charms
This isn’t a one way relationship though. Ben’s kids — Violet, Samuel and Seraphina — support their dad completely and even wrote on his hand at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards for luck! Ben and Jennifer have some pretty adorable kids!
Ben Handles Oscars Snub
The only thing that could have dampened the mood for the Affleck family last night was the snub Ben received for not being nominated in the Best Director category. After winning the Best Director award at other award shows this season, it came as a huge surprise to many that he wasn’t even nominated for it at the Oscars. Ben handled himself well though, and didn’t let the snub ruin his night! What a gentleman!
Jennifer Supports Her Husband During Award Season
Ben spent a great part of his speech thanking his wife, Jennifer, as well. She has been attending all of Ben’s award shows this season and the two always look like a great couple. Ben showed his appreciation at the Oscars by saying: “I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It’s good. It is work but it’s the best kind of work and there’s no one I’d rather work with.” How romantic!
