For the first time in 36 years, Barbra performed on the Oscars stage on Feb. 24, singing ‘The Way We Were!’ It was simply beautiful and so touching.
In memoriam for Marvin Hamlisch, an American composer and conductor who passed away in 2012, Barbra Streisand made a triumphant return to the Oscars stage on Feb. 24, and sang their amazing song, “The Way We Were.”
Barbra performed “The Way We Were,” which won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1974. The song was originally written for the movie by the same name, which she starred in with Robert Redford.
Celebrities Tweet Their Joy For Barbra’s Performance
Oprah Winfrey tweeted, “Barbara Streisand standing O for being classic elegance in every way.”
Stephen Amell, of Arrow, said, “Awfully kind of Barbara Streisand to feature an

During Barbra’s performance, celebrity fashion designer Brad Goreski tweeted, “Can’t breathe!! Everyone be very quiet!!!!!”
Barbra’s History With The Oscars
Barbra first performed at the Academy Awards in 1977, singing “Evergreen.” She won her first Academy Award in 1969 for Best Actress for Funny Girl. She was later nominated for Best Actress for 1973’s The Way We Were, won Best Original Song for “Evergreen” from 1976’s A Star Is Born, and nominated again for Best Original Song for “I Finally Found Someone” from 1996’s The Mirror Has Two Faces.
