Taylor Swift started the “revenge dress” trend on the red carpet at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards in a white hot Ralph Lauren gown, and one day later, Selena Gomez took note, turning up at an exclusive runway presentation of the Alberta Ferretti limited edition 2013 collection at the Chateau Marmont in LA, where she revealed her cleavage in a blue dress by the designer. Since then, following their splits from Harry Styles and Justin Bieber, respectively, both stars have been wearing sexier and sexier gowns on carpets, showing these boys what they’re missing. But who’s revenge dressing best?

Relationship expert Dr. Phil Dembo tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “It is often the case that after a break up with a boyfriend or girlfriend, we are much more heightened to wanting to look our best, our sexiest, and our most inviting. One, we want to look good for the new suitors out there and, two, we want to look really good just in case our ‘ex’ is looking our way.”

“The other dynamic working here for both young women is they are are in fact young women and we have been watching their every move and all their growth and development since they were young children,” he adds. “Both Selena and Taylor are emerging into ‘womanhood’ and with each young adult experience such as a new love or a break-up, we will witness a step forward in their evolution as women, and as sexual beings.”

We have a feeling that Justin, 18, and Harry, 18, are kicking themselves right now — Taylor and Selena look hot!
