Say it ain’t so! Rob was cast in the romantic western film ‘Unbound Captives’ in 2011, but now the director Madeleine Stowe has EXCLUSIVELY revealed to HollywoodLife.com that Rob will not be in the film. But why?
Robert Pattinson is busy in Australia filming his dark new movie The Rover, and he need not rush back from the outback because he has lost his part in the romantic western Unbound Captives! HollywoodLife.com spoke with Rob’s would-be director Madeleine Stowe at the Hollywood Domino & Bovet 1822 Gala benefiting Artists For Peace And Justice at the Sunset Tower Hotel on Feb. 21, and she revealed that Rob is no longer attached to the movie. Read on to find out the reason why!
Madeline Stowe Reveals Why Robert Pattinson Will Not Be In ‘Unbound Captives’
HollywoodLife.com caught up with sexy Revenge star Madeleine at the prestigious gala in Los Angeles, and she revealed that Unbound Captives’ production schedule has been pushed back again.
“It will not happen this year, but we are looking at 2014 because Hugh Jackman is booked until then, so we will start it up in 2014!” said Madeleine.
Madeleine then exclusively revealed that Rob is no longer going to be starring in the role of Phineas, because he is too old!
“I love Rob so much, but he is now a man!” said Madeleine. “And he was kind of a boy when we first got into this film, so we are on the hunt for a new Phineas right now, that is the piece of casting we are concerned about because Rachel Weiz is a part of the film as well. Thank you so much for asking.”
What a shame!
Rob was originally cast in the film in 2011, and Madeleine had previously admitted that she thought Rob might be too old for the part, but she was so “in love” with him that she considered changing the age! By June 2012, Rob was “still attached” to the film, but with another set back, Rob has lost the part.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you sad that Rob will no longer be in the film?

Rob doesn’t look like a teenager anymore, he’s a man – this makes sense.
I can prove them haven’t split and have NEVER been on a ‘trial separation’ just based on their actions over the past three years MINUS the ‘vague source’ exclusives. Search for ‘misfit chick’s paprazzi blogspot’ out in Internetland for the HUGE SCOOP regarding all this erroneous Robsten gossip reporting. Includes petitions for ALL Celebs for the gossips/paps to reform THEMSELVES.
I doubt that he was ever signed for that movie. From what I remember, Ms. Stowe was hot and heavy to have him play the role of Phineas, but Rob was not. I think she had the hots for him. Prehaps she has gotten the message. He doesn’t have the hots for her. Must be some wonderful film to be in pre production from 2011-2014. Doesn’t look like Hugh Jackman is too anxious to do it either. Or perhaps he is saving it as a project when he has nothing better to do. I wonder what sweet young thing Stowe has her sights on now? As some one else said, her loss.

Why can’t he play a 17 year old boy. Jennifer Grey was 26 when she played Frances Houseman in Dirty Dancing. But than again she looked 17. They seem to want to put older actress’s and actors into younger parts, and everybody knows that that is a stupid idea. How old was Reese when she played June Carter in WALK THE LINE. Wasn’t June Carter older in that film. They seem to want older actress’s and actors to play young people in movies but sometimes it doesn’t work. It’s like Fifty Shades of Grey, they are looking at older men to play a 27 year old man in the book, and they are looking at older actress’s in their late 20′s early 30′s to play Ana Steel and she is 21 in the books. She doesn’t turn 22 until the 3rd book. Christian Grey turns 28 in the 2nd book. So why cast older people in these roles. Look at the people they are considering. No-one would believe they are 27 and 21, because everyone know how old they really are. But if Rob and Kristen played the parts they would be believable, as Kristen is nearly 23 and Rob is nearly 27 so perfect age. Rob is suppose to film MISSION BLACKLIST this year but I read it has been put off until later in the year is this TRUE. Also hasn’t Queen of the Desert been put on hold until further notice until sometime early next year. Naomi Watts and Jude law have pulled out. Naomi wants to spend more time with her family and Jude law said that he will be unavailable to do it because of his other film commitments which he has until later next year. So that’s 2 movies Rob isn’t doing. I also read that the movie “Hold onto Me” there was nothing concrete as he hadn’t been asked to sign yet. Is this still going ahead. But I guess Directors, writers, producers, Studio heads whatever will always cast who they want regardless of their age.

I think its maybe because no matter how goodlooking he is and he is! Hes not a good actor NO hear or read me out please he was great as Edward but every other films flopped not even his Twihard fans could save them He was miscast or the film wasnt good enough you could look for all sorts of reasons but so far except for Edward in USA films hes just not a good enough actor to HOLD a film . Hes a decent enough actor see Housewive hand book UK film he was brilliant as a dork in it youd never recog him and he was 4 star in that Maybe he should find his genre like so many others and go with that but hes hopping and bopping around to try to find a charactor other than Edward. As for 50 Shades shes 23 look 17 hes 26 and he looks his age so if its delayed a year or 2 and they go with them it will still work AND if they can magic the chemistry STILL The chem between Bella and edward even from the first film was cos they were falling in love and that extra spark maybe made it work better or not who kows BUT with all the crap thats gone on and if they are over dont think it would be healthy for them nor healthy box office for the fim. Either of them could play the part with another actor.actress BUt agin its a Franchise film only the brave would take it on

He was attached to this film before Twilight came out… Back in 2008. It is 5 years later now. He is 26. He is not going to play a 17 year old. Madeline Stowe gushes in every interview how much she loves Rob. The movie has been pushed back 4 times now, so obviously he has aged out of it. Would have loved to see him work with Hugh, but I don’t want to see Rob going back to playing a teenager. He has grown up to adult parts now. Love Madeline and Hugh. Hope movie gets made as Rob said it is a wonderful script.

Robert Pattinson has so many projects lined up in the future; he will be fine as far as his career goes. Robert cannot accept every part that he is asked to play. That young man has a great career ahead of him; I just hope that his future does not include Kristen Stewart. Please let that strange chapter of his life be over once and for all.

P.S. Why wouldn’t Kristen be a part of his future? They are the highest grossing couple financially so obviously from these stats, people would flock to see them again even if they are not together in their personal lives any longer. it will be interesting to see them in different roles. I wish they would do a spy thriller…you know where they are totally in love but have a duty to their countries because they are spies (double agents, triple agents)…that kind of conflict which tests their loyalty. I think it would be a hit at the box office!

This casting news has been around since I became a fan of Rob in 2009, so your 2011 date is totally inaccurate. Rob has so many other fantastic projects lined up (at least 5 at last count with many more coming no doubt, he’s an actor very much in demand and rightly so). I’m sure he won’t be that sad to not be playing a 17 year old again any time soon.
