The British are at war! After the singer-songwriter threw shade on the 1D boys after the 2013 BRIT Awards, members of the boy band sent out some fiery reactions of their own on Twitter. That’s right — we’ve got an all-out feud on our hands!
Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson of One Direction are not going to be pushed around by British singer Jake Bugg.
One Direction Dissed By Jake Bugg
Jake, 18, totally went off on the worldwide phenomenon of 1D in a new interview, saying, “I mean, [One Direction] must know that they’re terrible.”
He continued, “They must know… calling them the new rock stars is a ridiculous statement. And people should stop making it.”
Jake, for those who don’t know — and we assume that includes pretty much everyone not living in the UK — has become pretty popular in his homeland and was nominated for Best British Breakthrough Act at the 2013 BRIT Awards. He lost to Ben Howard, though.
One Direction Responds On Twitter
Though One Direction could probably end this feud once and for all by crushing Jake with the bajillion records they’ve sold across the world, members of the band started small, stating their displeasure on Twitter.
“Really buggs me that artists we’re fans of flip on us in the press!” Niall cleverly tweeted.
Louis joined in: “Hi @JakeBugg do you think slagging off boy bands makes you more indie?” Nailed it.
Continuing on his “indie” rant, Jake also whined about how One Direction doesn’t write all of their own material, saying, “Who the f**k is saying [they're the closest thing to rock stars we have these days]? Oh, I’m pretty sure they have a good laugh. But it’s easy to, isn’t it? When you don’t have to write any songs.”
Jake Bugg Jealous Of Harry Styles?
Why so salty, Jake? Maybe it has to do with the fact that Harry Styles had a fling with his current girlfriend, Cara Delevingne. Harry was linked to the British model last year, months before she and Jake became an item.

Seems like a very biased article. Writers were clearly favoring One Direction’s side. I don’t agree with Jake Bugg when he said One Direction’s music is terrible since music is all about preference. No one can agree on one genre being the best since it is all based on music preference. Love Jake Bugg though.
