Rapper Kenny Clutch Dies In Shooting On Las Vegas Strip

A tragic shooting at the heart of the Las Vegas strip has left three people dead, including rapper Kenny Clutch from Oakland, Calif. Police are still searching for the gunman — read on for more details.

Gunfire erupted on the vibrant Las Vegas strip in the early morning of Feb. 22, resulting in a fiery car crash and killing three people — including aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry, aka Kenny Clutch. The shooting occurred near some of Vegas’ most iconic tourist attractions, including Caesar’s Palace, the Bellagio and the Flamingo.

The shooting started around 4:20 a.m. in the valet parking lot of the Aria Hotel, police Sheriff Douglas Gillespie said, according to CNN. Shortly thereafter, someone in a black Range Rover Sport fired shots at a Maserati heading North on Las Vegas Boulevard. When the driver of the Maserati was hit, the car kept going — speeding into the intersection of of Las Vegas Boulevard, and crashed into a taxi, which caught on fire, Sheriff Douglas said.

The driver of the Maserati, the taxi driver and a passenger in the taxi were all killed in the accident. There was also a passenger in the sports car and three other people involved in the car accident and pileup that were injured, Sheriff Douglas revealed.

Rapper Kenny Clutch Dies In Las Vegas Shooting Accident

One of the killed was aspiring rapper Kenny Clutch from Oakland, Calif. Kenny was driving the Maserati, one of his family members confirmed.

“This act is totally unacceptable, and we are going to make a very clear message to these individuals in regards to that,” Sheriff Gillespie said. The police have made finding the driver of the Range Rover their “top priority,” although the shooter is still on the loose.
