Ouch! In the same week she was called a ‘plastic doll’, Kate is now being attacked by British designer Vivienne for purchasing too many new outfits. Is she right?
Kate Middleton just can’t catch a break. First, she had bump pictures taken while she was in a bikini, then British Man Booker prize winner Hilary Mantel said that her only purpose is to provide a royal heir, and now she has been slammed by iconic fashion designer Vivienne Westwood for wearing too many new outfits, because it’s not “good for the environment.”
Vivienne Westwood Gives Kate Middleton Style Advice
Vivienne, 71, was at London Fashion Week for her Autumn/Winter 2013 presentation on Feb. 17, when she was asked to comment on the pregnant 31-year-old’s style.
“I don’t have any advice for her, [although] I think it would be great if she wore the same clothes over and again, because that’s very good for the environment and it would send out a very nice message,” said Vivienne, as reported by Us.
“If you’re going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it. I mean, you don’t have to have a red outfit one day and then something almost the same in blue the next,” she continued.
Vivienne makes a good point, but sometimes it’s nice to change it up. Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time that Vivienne has been vocal about one of Kate’s style choices.
Vivienne Attacks Kate’s Eyeliner & Image
“It seems to me that her image is ‘ordinary woman,’” she said to The Sunday Times Magazine in 2011. “Therefore, High Street shopper. And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from.”
Vivienne didn’t stop there, as she also criticized Kate’s make-up.
“I think she’s got a problem with eye make-up,” she said. “The sharp line around her eyes make her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none.”
Jeez Vivienne, don’t hold back!
