One Direction Rocks The BRIT Awards With 'One Way Or Another'

‘One Way Or Another,’ the boys of 1D were amazing at their homecoming show of sorts at the 2013 BRIT Awards. Eat your heart out, Taylor Swift!

On Feb. 20, One Direction took the stage at the 2013 BRIT Awards and completely met all the expectations we had for them, performing a cover of Blondie’s classic, “One Way Or Another.”

One Direction’s Performance Sets The BRIT Stage On Fire

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson may look like subdued chaps when they’re cute in suits on the red carpet and in their seats, but once they get on stage, they’re pure energy. On a video game-themed stage, 1D put a masculine, rock ‘n’ roll slant on the old classic. The song sped up and slowed down and with an amazing light show behind, One Direction looked untouchable. The performance was loads of fun, and the audience was definitely rocking along. One Direction danced and ran up and down the the winding BRIT Awards stage, exhibiting their true boyhood energy. They’re a prime example of a group having a ton of fun and doing it for a good cause.

1D’s Song To Support Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day

One Direction’s rendition of “One Way Or Another” was recorded as a single for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day, to raise funds for poor children who can’t receive proper education. All of the guys were super excited to be recording a song for a good benefit. Niall told M magazine, “We are really excited to be part of Red Nose Day this year. We really want the song to raise lots of money and for people to show their support.” Harry, who revealed the BRIT award performance to the magazine Grazia, brushed off questions about bumping into ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift to talk up “One Way Or Another” and Comic Relief: “I can’t wait for the BRITs, we’re going to be performing our Comic Relief single, so it’s amazing to have such a big platform for that.” Well, their performance on Feb. 20 was so good that it even made us forget about all the Haylor drama — at least for a little while.
