Black Keys Drummer Patrick Carney ‘Becomes’ Justin Bieber On Twitter

No, you didn’t misread that headline. Patrick spent the past week facing the often-homophobic wrath of 34 million Beliebers by posing as their ‘swagged out’ idol.

Here’s a fun little life lesson: If you suggest that Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney deserves to be “slapped around,” you’d better expect him to fight back where it really hurts — Twitter! Just days after Justin Bieber suggested violence against Patrick, the 32-year-old drummer retaliated by changing his entire Twitter account to resemble the Biebs’ last week. Needless to say, Beliebers were not pleased.

Patrick Carney IS Justin Bieber

“I am bieber now,” Patrick tweeted Feb. 13 after changing his avatar and Twitter bio to resemble Justin’s. What transpired during the next few days was a collection of hilarious tweets from Patrick (as Justin), as well as disturbing threats from Justin’s angry fans. Here’s a collection of my favorite tweets:

1. “To all my peoples U make make my life so full of swag. I swag out all day just thinking about all the swag u guys inspire me to swag with.” (Feb. 16)

2. “I just swagged out loud. SOL.” (Feb. 16)

3. “I swag ur pardon? RT @frenchanita Patrick is just ugly as f**k.” (Feb. 16)

4. “Don’t forget to buy believeACOUSTIC, believeELECTRONIC, believeWORLDFLUTES, and BelieveHOMEVEGASCLUBEXPIERENCE I ❤ u guyz” (Feb. 17)

Justin Bieber’s Fans Attack With Homphobic Tweets

One of the most upsetting parts of this whole exchange, considering Patrick never actually tweeted anything mean about Justin, was the amount of anti-gay slurs hurled at the drummer from Beliebers. Here are just a few examples of truly disgusting instances of homophobia that Patrick was bold enough to retweet:

‏1. “@patrickcarney gay” — @hueleabieber

2. “@patrickcarney is a faggot” — @cutie6465

3. “@patrickcarney faggot mean jerk” — ‏@KidrauhPrincess

4. “does patrick carney even realise how much of a faggot he looks” — @delreyvogue

And that’s only the tip of the iceberg! I guess the joke is really on Beliebers, given the grammatical mess of their attacks.

HollywoodLifers, what’s your take on Patrick and Justin’s Twitter games? Do you hope the madness comes to an end, or are you having too much fun watching? Drop a comment with your thoughts!

Speaking of justin Bieber, you’ll find his new fansite interesting, AND you’ll find out what fans have voted the book that they think Justin likes a lot. PLUS a guest appearance by superstar Brooke Taylor, a.k.a. Lady Lawbreaker. If you know any J. Bieber fans, they’ll appreciate it if you **TWITTER** THIS INFO TO THEM!
Justin’s new fansite is here:

Y’all need to let it go. Bieber isn’t some little gift from God. He’s offensive, uneducated, immature, ignorant, has delusions of grandeur, hypocritical and a little hot head. Facts are facts and all the beliebers are going to have to deal with it.

His songs are often lacking in originality; used riffs from older songs, aren’t always melodic and frankly putting out an acoustic album doesn’t show his ability to sing since they’re still using pitch correctors on the final tracks. Have the little punk sing a cappella without a mic or any sort of electronic equipment to prove his ability to sing.

If he wants respect from the music community, then he better realize that he has to earn that respect and that starts with cleaning up his act and respecting others. The fame has gone to his head and his ego has gotten to big for his britches.

I challenge people to actually respond maturely and with empirical facts. We’ve all seen Bieber’s behaviour and we’ve all heard his uneducated ramblings come out of his mouth.. (Entitled to free gas, remember? Not knowing what the Sistine Chapel is?) Defend his stupidity and I’ll show you someone who’s blind to reality.

I mean i’m 19 and so are my friends and we are all not in our early teens.
So not all Justin’s fans are extra young but the fact this dude that is older and in his 30’s. Is actually letting the stuff they say get to him that sad. Justin gets hate at least a little bit everyday since he has became famous. Especially talked bad by an older generation! They make fun of his fans that they always say his fan base is 12, well if that is true why are you arguing with that kid. I’m sorry but this just shows how much grown adults can be immature and stupid as well.
i respected The Black Keys as a band i don’t listen to them but i valued what they do. I wish people can think that way towards Justin. The whole point i’m trying to make is older people arguing with a 12 or 13 calling them immature doesn’t make them look anyway. It makes the older person look immature and dumb.

Come on, how old are Justin fans? 12? Those are little girls who want to use big worlds without knowing the meaning. Quite sad if you ask me, may be spending less time listening to Mr Bieber music and more studing will do them some good. And shame on Justin for encouraging this behavior on his fans, but what can you expect his a little kid himself.

Funny how celebrities like Justin Bieber claim they are anti-bullying, then have no problem encouraging their fans to bully someone on twitter. How pathetic of him to have tween girls fighting his battles for him. @Hanne, if you think ‘faggot” and “idiot” are synonyms, you are a homophobic, small-minded, hateful person. You beliebers lose your minds whenever someone suggests Bieber might be gay, then throw the word around like an insult every chance you get. That makes you homophobic hypocrites.

I actually don’t like either but it was definitely Patrick who made the rude comments first. Sure, it may have been mature for Justin to not respond at all, but what can you do. If you’re gonna make rude comments you’re asking for the possibility of having some kind of backlash so be prepared for it.

The better person would just let it go and Justin was not able to be that person…..so he is no better than the guy that started it. He is young, he will learn. The older guy is just annoyed that he had to work a lot harder than to be discovered on YouTube. Patrick had been at it for years, working really hard before Beiber was even a thought in anyones mind. I guess that would kind of piss me off too if I were in the profession. Some of us get handed opportunity and others have to seek it out themselves. I can see Patricks point of view in his statements but still think both of them should shut up and get back to work.

They are both good at what they do but Patrick has had to work a lot harder for his talents to be recognized. I think he mocks Justin because Justin rose to the top a lot faster without as much un-recognized hard work. Besides, wasn’t it Justin that slagged Patrick off first? Maybe he should have been the adult he wants people to see him as by acting a bit more mature and not said anything at all. There is enough room in the world for both to be successful. They should just leave each other alone and go back to doing what they do best….creating or entertaining with good music! Who cares what they look like or if they are gay or not….that really isn’t the point here.

You just proved yourself wrong. If you’re equating “faggot” with “idiot,” then you’re just a terrible person.

I’m Belieber and I think Patrick is jelous for Justin’s fame. Justin is so talented, and Patrick said “Justin has got money, the Grammys are for the talent” That was unrespecful. Sorry if my english is bad, I’m from Argentina haha.

The whole point of me including those tweets was to show how messed up their homophobic comments were. They made themselves look bad by using those words. Please don’t do the same.
